Switching from OurHome
OurHome is gone. Here’s where your family’s chores can go.
OurHome, the free app for chores with points, the grocery list and the family calendar, is no longer in the App Store or Google Play. If it’s still on your phone, save what you need now. Then, if you’re looking for a new home for the chore chart, here’s what Kithful does, and what it doesn’t.
What we found (checked October 19, 2026): OurHome isn’t in the US App Store or Google Play, and its website doesn’t load. We couldn’t find a shutdown notice from its makers.
If it’s still installed: an app that’s been pulled from the stores gets no more updates, so don’t count on it for long.
Not the same app: “OurHome by Elusios” in the App Store is a different app from a different developer.
Do this first: save what you’d hate to lose
- Write down each kid’s points or reward total. Whatever app you move to, the kids will want credit for what they’ve already earned.
- Screenshot each kid’s chore list and anything else you’d hate to retype, like the grocery list. Kithful can read a screenshot of a list into items you check before they’re saved.
- Check where your calendar really lives. If your events are in Google, iCloud or Outlook, they’re safe there. You just connect them to the next app.
How Kithful covers what your family used OurHome for

Chores the kids check off themselves
In Kid Mode each kid finds their own cartoon character, sees today’s chores and taps “I did it!”. Your phone gets a notification, and you approve with one tap. A spare tablet can be locked to Kid Mode so it can’t reach the grown-up side. More on Kithful’s chore chart, with chore ideas by age built in.
Rewards: allowance or screen time
Each chore can earn money or minutes of screen time. Balances add up as you approve, and you mark rewards as paid when the kids cash in.
Taking turns
A job like the dishes can rotate between kids each time it comes up, or week by week, and the app keeps track of whose turn it is. Grown-ups can take turns on to-dos too.
One grocery list everyone adds to
A shared shopping list sorted by store and aisle. It suggests what’s run out or about to expire, so the list starts itself.
A family calendar, one color per person
Snap a photo of a school or sports schedule, paste the coach’s text, or type it. Each person gets their own color, and Google, iCloud or Outlook calendars can be connected by their share link.
Notes for everyone
Pin a note the whole family sees at the top of Today: “Grandma’s coming Saturday”, “Don’t eat the brownies, they’re for the bake sale”.
Things OurHome didn’t do
- What’s in the house: snap a grocery receipt and Kithful tracks what you bought and roughly when food expires.
- This week’s deals from your own stores, matched to what you’re running low on, plus a coupon wallet.
- Meals and recipes: a weekly meal plan and your own recipe box. One tap adds what you’re missing to the list.
- Warranties and doctor-visit notes, with follow-up appointments added to the calendar.
What’s different, honestly
There’s no prize shop. If your kids traded points for prizes in OurHome, the closest thing in Kithful is allowance or screen time that you pay out yourself.
There’s no chat. Notes for everyone is a shared board, not messages back and forth.
Kids don’t get their own accounts. Kid Mode runs on a parent’s phone or a shared tablet. More on how your kids’ information is handled.
It’s a web app for now. You add it to your home screen from the browser; there’s no App Store or Google Play version yet.
It’s in early access. We’re inviting families a few at a time. Join the list and we’ll send your invite.

Questions
Is the OurHome app still available?
Not in the usual places. When we checked on October 19, 2026, the OurHome chores app was not in the US App Store or Google Play, and its website was not loading. Families who already have it installed may still be able to open it, but it gets no updates.
Can I move my OurHome chores into Kithful?
There is no OurHome import. Set the chores up again from the Common household jobs list, which has a section for kids sorted by age. Kithful can read a screenshot of a grocery list into items you confirm. Write down each kid’s points first so nothing they earned is lost.
Does Kithful have chores with rewards like OurHome?
Yes. Kids tap “I did it!” in Kid Mode, a grown-up approves, and money or screen-time rewards add up. Chores can take turns between kids. There is no prize shop for trading points.
Do kids need their own account?
No. Kids are names in the family, not accounts. Kid Mode runs on a parent’s phone or a shared tablet, which can be locked to Kid Mode with a PIN.
Is Kithful free?
Yes. Every feature is free for the whole family, with 30 photo/PDF scans a month; typing and pasting are unlimited. Kithful Plus removes the scan limit for $39.99 a year or $4.99 a month per household, and new households start with 14 days of Plus, no card needed.
