Your kids in Kithful
Kithful is for parents and guardians. Your kids show up in it because you add them. Here is exactly what that means for their information.
Kids are names, not accounts
A parent adds a child by first name. Kids don’t get an email address, a password or a login, and Kithful never asks a child for personal details. We don’t ask for birthdays, ages or photos of your kids.
What Kid Mode saves
Kid Mode is a simple picture view of chores and rewards that runs inside your household. Here is what a child’s taps save:

| Builds their character | The choices they made, like hair style and shirt color. |
| Plays a game | Nothing on our side. High scores stay on that tablet. |
Kid Mode works by pictures, so kids who can’t read yet can use it too. Leaving Kid Mode needs the Parent PIN. A tablet set up for a child opens straight into Kid Mode and can’t reach the grown-up side at all. Kid Mode loads nothing from outside companies.
No strangers
Every family’s information stays inside its own household. There are no public profiles, no messages between families, and no way for anyone outside your household to find or contact your child in Kithful.
Where a child’s information can go
Only when a grown-up does something:
- You scan something, like a school schedule or a visit summary. The photo goes to the AI service that reads it, then it’s thrown away. It may show your child’s name or school.
- You turn on reminders. Reminders like “Ruby did Dishes” travel through your phone maker’s notification service, scrambled so it can’t read them.
- You turn on the weekly email. It lists the week’s events, with names, and goes only to your inbox.
- You share the calendar link. Anyone with that link can see the family calendar, kids’ events included. You can reset the link in Settings at any time.
The service providers page lists every company involved and what each one gets.
What we never do
- No ads, and no profiles of your kids.
- We never sell your family’s information.
- Neither we nor the AI services we use train AI on it.
You’re in charge
You can see everything Kid Mode saved on the Chores page. To erase one child’s information, open Chores, tap the child, then Delete: their chores, check-offs, rewards and character go at once. To stop Kid Mode saving anything new, pause the child or just don’t use Kid Mode.
We keep a child’s information only while they’re on your family list, because that’s what their chore board and earned rewards need. When you delete a child or your household, it’s removed straight away and drops out of our backups within 30 days.
From Settings you can also download everything your household has stored, or delete the household and everything in it. If you think a child has made an account or sent us information on their own, email privacy@kithful.app and we’ll delete it.
