About Kithful
About Kithful
Kithful is the household app that remembers so you don’t. Snap a schedule, receipt or flyer; it keeps your family’s calendar, shopping list and chores. It covers the calendar, groceries and local deals, meals, to-dos and kids’ chores in one shared place. You confirm what a photo reads, and Kithful connects it to everything else.
What Kithful does
A family calendar, one color per person
Snap a school or sports schedule, upload a PDF, or paste the coach’s text (“practice Thursday 6pm”) and it becomes events you confirm. Connect Google, iCloud or Outlook calendars — work ones too — so everyone’s week sits on one calendar, and subscribe to it from your phone’s own calendar.
What’s in the house, and what’s about to run out
Snap a grocery receipt and Kithful tracks what you bought, estimates when food expires, and learns how often you rebuy things. It notices when you’re low, so the list starts itself. If the FDA recalls a food with the same barcode as one you have, it tells you, so you can check the lot code on yours.
A shopping list that knows this week’s deals
A shared list sorted by store and aisle. Kithful reads your stores’ weekly ads and shows a sale next to the things you actually buy, plus a coupon wallet with scannable barcodes.
Meals and recipes
A weekly meal plan, your own recipe box (type a recipe in, snap grandma’s card, or paste a link or a post’s text), and a recipe library to browse. Set the ingredients your family avoids and recipes that use them are flagged. Pick a few meals and one tap adds everything you don’t already have to the list.
To-dos, chores and Kid Mode
Assign to-dos to a person with reminders and repeats, or pick from about 40 common house jobs. Kids get chores on a big-button screen; a grown-up approves and tracks allowance or screen time.
The paperwork
Warranties you can find when something breaks (with a heads-up if a CPSC recall names the same model number), and notes from doctor visits, with follow-up appointments added to the calendar.
What makes Kithful different
The pieces talk to each other
Most family apps store what you type. Kithful connects it: a receipt updates what’s in the house, running low puts it on the list, and the list checks this week’s ads and your coupons. A list app like AnyList is excellent at lists, but it doesn’t know what’s in your pantry or what’s on sale near you.
Paper goes in by photo, and you check it first
Receipts, flyers, school schedules, coupons, recipe cards, warranties and visit summaries are all read from a photo. Nothing a camera reads is saved until a person confirms it. Skylight sells photo-to-calendar with a wall display and a yearly subscription; Kithful does it from the phone you already have.
Deals for what you buy, not every deal
A flyer app like Flipp shows everything on sale. Kithful shows the sales that match what your family is low on or regularly buys, beside what you usually pay.
Every feature is free, with one price per household
No feature is held back on the Free plan, and there are no ads. The only limit is photo scans (30 a month). Plus removes it for the whole household, not per person, with no contract.
Your data stays yours
Maple and Mealime are both shutting down in 2026, and their families’ data goes with them. In Kithful you can download everything your household has saved, or delete it, anytime from Settings. Kids are records the parents manage, not accounts, and nothing about them is used for advertising.
Who uses Kithful
- Parents juggling kids’ school, sports and activity schedules across two or more calendars.
- Two-adult households who want one shared list and calendar instead of texting each other.
- Families who shop a few stores and want this week’s deals on what they actually buy.
- Households trying to waste less food and remember what’s already in the fridge.
- Parents who want chores and allowance for kids around 4 to 12, without giving the kids accounts.
- Grown children helping an aging parent keep track of appointments and visit notes.
- Families leaving Cozi, Maple or Mealime.
Who Kithful isn’t for (yet)
- Anyone who needs an App Store or Google Play app today. Kithful runs in the browser and can be added to a home screen.
- Families outside the US who want store deals: weekly ads are US-only. The calendar, lists and chores work anywhere.
- People who want the app to read their email. Things come in by photo, PDF, pasted text, a calendar link or typing.
- Households wanting a wall display. Kithful works on the phones and tablets you already have.
- Teens who want their own account. Kids are names a parent manages, not logins.
Why Kithful exists
Kithful was built by a parent who was tired of running a household across half a dozen apps, a fridge door and a lot of texts. It was built for one family’s real week first — the receipts, the practice schedules, the “do we have milk?”, and new features get used at home before they reach anyone else. The name comes from “kith and kin”: the people close to you.

How Kithful works
- Get an invite. Join the early-access list on the home page; invites go out in batches by email.
- Set up in a few minutes. Name your household, add your family (each person picks a color), choose your stores, and pick what to track first. A short guided tour walks you through adding your first real thing.
- Add the rest of the family. Each grown-up gets their own login to the same household. Kids don’t need one; they use Kid Mode on a shared tablet.
- Snap, confirm, done. Photos are read by AI and shown to you to check. Typing and pasting never count against the Free plan’s scans.
- Open Today each morning. One screen with what’s on the calendar, what’s running low, what’s on sale and what to do next, plus reminders on your phone and an optional weekly email.
- Questions? Email [email protected]. A person reads every message.

Questions
What is Kithful?
Kithful is a household organization app for families. It keeps the family calendar, groceries, the shopping list and local deals, meals, to-dos and kids’ chores in one shared place, and reads paper like receipts and school schedules from a photo.
Is Kithful free?
Yes. Every feature is free for the whole family, with 30 photo/PDF scans a month; typing and pasting are unlimited. Kithful Plus removes the scan limit for $39.99 a year or $4.99 a month per household, and new households get 14 days of Plus with no card.
How is Kithful different from Cozi?
Both have a shared, color-coded family calendar and lists. Kithful also tracks what’s in the house from receipts, matches this week’s local deals to what you buy, reads schedules from a photo, and runs kids’ chores with parent approval and allowance.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Not in the stores yet. Kithful runs in any phone’s browser and can be added to the home screen, where it opens like an app and sends reminders.
Does Kithful sell my family’s data or show ads?
No. There are no ads, and each household’s data is private to that household. You can export everything or delete your household from Settings at any time.
Do kids need their own accounts?
No. Kids are records a parent manages. They use Kid Mode, a big-button screen on a shared device, and a grown-up approves what they mark done.
How do I get Kithful?
Kithful is in early access. Leave your email on the home page and you’ll get an invite link; setup takes a few minutes.
