Grocery list app with deals

A grocery list that knows what’s on sale this week

Most grocery list apps hold what you type. Kithful also notices what you’re running low on and checks this week’s ads from your own stores for those items, so the list says “$2.49 at Kroger (usually $3.29)” before you leave the house.

Who it’s for: families who shop two or more stores and want the sales on what they actually buy, not every deal in the flyer.

Who it isn’t for: shoppers outside the US (weekly ads are US-only), or anyone who wants grocery delivery or online ordering.

How it works

  1. Pick your stores. Enter your ZIP and choose the stores near you; their weekly ads come in on their own.
  2. Snap a grocery receipt (or scan a barcode, or type). Kithful learns what you buy and how often, and estimates when food expires.
  3. The list starts itself. Things you’ve run out of, or usually rebuy about now, show up as suggestions with the reason, and any match in this week’s ads.
  4. Shop by store and aisle. The shared list sorts by store and then by aisle (here’s how to set up a grocery list by store), with a rough total from sale prices and what you paid last time.

What else is in it

What it doesn’t do — honestly

It doesn’t clip coupons to your store account. It reminds you which ones to clip.

Not every store has a digital weekly ad. For those, snap the paper flyer and Kithful reads it.

Prices are the ad’s prices. The shelf price can differ.

What it costs

PlanWhat you getPrice
FreeEvery feature, for the whole family. 30 photo/PDF scans a month; typing and pasting a text are unlimited.$0, forever
PlusEverything in Free, with unlimited scans. One price covers the household.$39.99/year or $4.99/month

The list, deals and coupon wallet are on the free plan. Receipt and flyer photos count toward the 30 monthly scans; store ads that come in on their own don’t.

Questions

Is there a grocery list app that shows sales?

Yes. Kithful brings in the weekly ads from the stores you pick and shows sales next to the items on your list and the things you usually buy, with what you usually pay for comparison.

How is this different from Flipp?

Flipp shows everything on sale. Kithful only surfaces the sales that match what your household is low on or regularly buys, and keeps them next to your shared list.

Can the grocery list fill itself in?

It suggests items. When something runs out, or it’s about the time you usually rebuy it, Kithful suggests it with the reason. You choose what goes on the list.

Can my partner and I share the list?

Yes. Every grown-up in the household gets their own login to the same list, and it updates for everyone.

Does it work outside the US?

Store weekly ads are US-only for now. The list, recipes and receipt scanning work anywhere.
