Access for everyone

Kithful should work for everyone in the house

A family app gets used by grandparents with reading glasses, kids who can’t read yet, and parents holding a phone in one hand. Here is what works today, what doesn’t yet, and how to tell us.

What works today

What isn’t finished yet

We’d rather tell you than have you find out. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines, and we aren’t there yet:

  • We haven’t tested every screen with VoiceOver or TalkBack, so some steps may be clumsy with a screen reader.
  • There’s no “skip to content” link yet for keyboard users.
  • Some smaller text in dense tables, like a receipt you’re reviewing, can be hard to read without zooming.
  • Swipe actions on list rows are quicker with a finger than with other ways of getting around.
  • No outside company has tested Kithful for accessibility yet.

Tell us what’s hard

If something in Kithful is hard for you or someone in your family to use, email hello@kithful.app with “Access” in the subject. A real person reads it, and these reports go to the front of the line. Tell us the page and what you were trying to do.
